We are pleased to invite you to our next Gender Equality in Central and Eastern Europe CoP online meeting, which will take place on Friday, 19. May 2023, 9:00-10:30 (CEST).
The meeting will be in a form of the panel discussion focussing on gender equality and academic career development with two leading researchers in this field (and also members of our CoP): Anna Knapińska and Anna Górska.
The discussion will be focused on their recent publications:
- Women in Technoscience. Professional biographies of female professors // Kobiety w technonauce. Biografie zawodowe profesorek (by A.Knapińska, 2022; OPI - PIB)
- Gender and Academic Career Development in Central and Eastern Europe (by A. Górska, 2023; Routledge).
Anna Knapińska is a sociologist and science policy expert, working as a chief researcher in the National Information Processing Institute in Warsaw (Laboratory of Databases and Business Analytics). Her scientific interests include the transformation of the Polish R&D sector and women’s participation in research, particularly STEM. As a nominated delegate from Poland, she participates in the ERAC Standing Working Group on Gender in Research and Innovation. She is also a statistical correspondent for She Figures reports, which contain indicators on women in the field of research and innovation.
Anna Górska is an Assistant Professor at Kozminski University, a Director of Women and Diversity in Organisations Research Centre, and a member of Public Management (PUMA) research centre. Anna Górska specialises in gender and diversity in organisations and higher education institutions. She is a (co-)author of many publications in international journals and edited books. She also leads the Student-led Group 'Women in Organisations' and is an anti-discrimination expert and trainer.
