• The Institute of Sociology of the Jagiellonian University is the center of Krakow's sociology and one of the most important scientific and research centres in the country
• We implement important and current research and scientific projects responding to the challenges of a changing world
• This place is willingly visited by eminent representatives of science from Poland and abroad
• Each week at JU Institute of Sociology brings new meetings and discussions on the most important topics and current events
• We also use the power and potential of on-line formulas as a platform for meeting representatives of the world of science from Polish and foreign research, academic and research centers
• We are also literally in the center - halfway between the Main Square and Wawel, right next to the most important places in Krakow, a step away from atmospheric cafes, where you can drink a good coffee during your break!

WE CARE ABOUT DEVELOPMENT

SCIENTIFIC

• We place emphasis on the research, analytical and practical skills of students
• We support students in their development - together we carry out research, educational and advisory projects for companies, non-governmental organizations, public institutions, local community
• We work in interdisciplinary teams combining various approaches and perspectives - for years we have been organizing, among others, Inter-branch workshops NEW SPACE, during which we cooperate with several universities in Krakow
• We develop science! We are the authors and co-authors of the most important and signisicant publications
• The Jagiellonian University is one of the eight leading European research universities forming the union of universities Una Europe - this is also the area of ​​our activities!

SOCIAL

• We really care about relationships - we meet, discuss, undertake joint activities for the Institute community, the University and society - because studying at 52 Grodzka Street is much more than just science!
• We place emphasis on communication competences and enhancing interaction
• We work with many entities preparing and implementing projects for the surroundings and the local community
• We promote achievements and successes of  our students! We support them in their activities

• In the annual Ranking by Subjects Perspektywy 2022 our sociology took second place again! In Krakow and southern Poland we are unrivaled!
• Our lecturers  are specialists valued in the country and in the wide world
• The quality of our courses is monitored by means of evaluation questionnaires completed by students at the end of each semester
• We learn from our own experience - the results of the annual evaluation of didactic activities are very important to us. the voice of female and male students counts!
• We are in constant contact with representatives of students - we know that cooperation is strength!

• We promote student mobility - we offer dozens of foreign scholarships in 19 countries of Europe

• The classes host students from all over Europe as well as foreign professors and practitioners who visit us with expert lectures and share their experience during workshops and seminars
• We work with numerous foreign partner universities and institutions, which gives us the opportunity to trip, meet with experts and practitioners, exchange the experiences, participate in significant projects
