prof. dr hab. Krzysztof Frysztacki
prof. dr hab. Krzysztof Frysztacki – full professor at the Jagiellonian University and head of the Department of Applied Sociology and Social Work at the Institute of Sociology. Has also conducted research and taught on numerous occasions at other universities in Poland and abroad, especially in the USA, at institutions including Hunter College of the City University of New York, Ohio State University and George Washington University. He has held and continues to perform various functions in the academic community, including a current post as chair of the Sociology Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences. His research interests have long concentrated on urban sociology, applied sociology, particularly combined with social problems, and the history and theory of social work. These have led him to write numerous books and articles and edit collective works. Amid all these interests, his favourite hobby remains Krakow.
