Katarzyna Bułka - the first Chir of Student of Social Work Research Group - fragment of speech from the student debate under the title Social work: Education. Profession. Scientific discipline, which took place in June 2015 as part of the 1st Week of Social Work.

The Social Work Research Group​ operates at the Institute of Sociology of the Jagiellonian University. It was established in May 2015 on the initiative of students of this field, as a space for discussion, exchange of views and experiences. The essence of activities undertaken by the Group is learning through active participation in (re)building a culture of social work. Commitment to change leads to increased awareness of the sense of influence on reality, gives even more power and positive energy to build relationships with those people who wander through life in search of meaning.

The core of the Group's activities are joint initiatives focused on promoting social work, among others by:

• integration of the student community
• cooperation with organizations and institutions active in the field of social work on a national and international scale
• research activity
