The ESA was established in the hope that its work would contribute to the encouragement of peaceful and productive relations among peoples. Sociological research has shown that peace is a matter of democracy; democratic societies do not resort to collective violence.

The ESA abhors the Russian armed invasion of Ukraine. This is an unprecedented and unacceptable breach of international agreements and standards of reciprocity. We stand in solidarity with those affected and all who support freedom.
